2001

wTVision was founded by Mário Sousa, Alex Fraser, Nuno Alves, Ricardo Faustino and Bruno Parreiras. Mediapro Group invested part of the capital and also became a shareholder.

2002

For the first time, wTVision covered an international sport event. A group of 10 people flew to Mali to work on the 23rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations. SportsStats CG (now FootballStats CG) was the software used for the operations.

2003

To cover Final Four, wTVision made its first project for the Basketball Euroleague, that ended up with the victory of home team, in Barcelona. In the same year, the company did its first broadcast with 3D graphics.

2004

This year was marked by big technological progress: wTVision entered the High Definition world and started to use augmented reality to provide virtual graphics. In 2004, wTVision also left its first footprint in Middle East, operating the graphics for the Gulf Cup, held in Qatar.

2005

wTVision started to cover the Jupiler League (Belgium Football League), opening an office in Brussels to locally support this project. The company did its first live poker tournament, working with STVPI, and reached 50 employees.

2006

Beginning of what would be a long and successful partnership with Globo, the Brazilian media giant. wTVision provided an innovative solution for live football coverage, that is still being used today.

2007

Despite its presence in several exhibitions during the previous years, it was in 2007 that wTVision had first booth of its own, in an international exhibition (IBC). In the same year, the company becomes a permanent in the Middle East, with local staff working from United Arab Emirates

2008

After the Portuguese and Belgium football leagues, wTVision started to operate the Spanish League (La Liga) in 2008. This major project led the company to open an office in Spain and to add more football leagues to its portfolio.

2009

wTVision launched Studio CG, a powerful integrated solution that allows broadcasters to manage and control on-air graphics and videos, from one single interface.

2010

In 2010, TV Globo presented a new project to wTVision: the creation of two international channels. For that purpose,  the company built a new channel distribution center in Lisbon, assuming the responsibility of the technical design, the facilities, the HR and the distribution of the inputted signal, becoming the prime contractor of this project.

2011

wTVision opened a new office in Brazil. After establishing itself in Rio de Janeiro, the company became the major graphics provider for motorsports events in the country.

2012

In 2012, wTVision opened new offices in the USA to penetrate the North American market,  having as a major goal, at the beginning, to provide solutions for TV channels’ master control rooms.

2013

This was the year to reinforce the presence of the company in Asia, by opening an office in the capital of India, New Delhi. This strategic move allowed wTVision to reach new audiences and to develop new solutions for different sports that are not so popular in the western world.

2014

Working with Bright House Networks, the broadcast market leader in Florida, USA, wTVision design new solutions to boost the coverage of the 2014 US midterm elections.

2015

A strong investment in the Branding Services led to clients such as the RealMadrid TV and TV Record; the first wTVision election project in Latin America took place in Colombia; the first PCR Automation project was delivered in Brazil and the first Live 4K Broadcast Graphics coverage, during ”El Clásico” Real Madrid vs Barcelona.

2016

wTVision completed its 15th anniversary and consolidated its presence in Latin America by opening a new office in the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

2017

wTVision inaugurated its new headquarters in Lisbon. Besides the improved infrastructure, the new offices generated many synergies and new possibilities for the future of the company.

2018

wTVision was an Official Technical Supplier of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, one of the most prestigious TV Shows in Europe. The event was broadcasted in the 43 participant countries and it is estimated that more than 200 million people watched it at home.

2019

A new production facility is integrated in the company’s headquarters. wTVision can now create a complete studio workflow from scratch, including photorealistic virtual sets.
